Michael McBride is the Managing Partner of the firm. His practice focuses on the sale, purchase, chartering, financing, taxation, and registration of ships and yachts. He also advises clients on the negotiation of shipbuilding contracts for both commercial vessels and yachts. Michael has been practising law in Cyprus since 1985. He joined the firm as an Associate in 1985, became a Partner in 1989, and was appointed Managing Partner in January 2024. Since joining the firm, he has dedicated his practice to shipping, corporate law, and tax planning, advising shipowners, ship management companies, and shipbrokers on a broad range of legal and commercial matters. Michael is the author of numerous publications on shipping law and has been a speaker at various shipping seminars and conferences in Cyprus and internationally. In addition to advising the firm's commercial clients, he also acts as legal adviser to government and semi-government organisations on various aspects of shipping law and has contributed to the drafting of shipping legislation and regulations in Cyprus. He serves as the Special Agent of the Republic of the Marshall Islands in Cyprus, is a member of the Shipping Committee of the Cyprus Bar Association, and acts as Legal Adviser to the Cyprus Shipping Chamber. Michael was included in the Leading Lawyer 100 (2011) directory in the Shipping & Maritime category and is widely recognised by both clients and peers as a leading expert in shipping and maritime law.
